Your gift leaves a legacy
Philanthropy is a personal expression of compassion and gratitude. Thanks to generous community donors partnering with the Foundation, we are able to inspire and support exceptional learning opportunities for Lee’s Summit R7 students!
There are many ways to give and many ways to make a difference in the life of a student. We invite you to review these giving opportunities to find what works best for you. If you would like more information on these options, please contact Chrissy Symes, LSEF Director at chrissy.symes@lsr7.net or 816-986-1015.
Cash
Cash gifts include checks, cash, credit card contributions, and money orders. The Lee’s Summit Educational Foundation is a 501(C)3 charitable organization and tax-receipts are issued for all gifts.

Memorial Gifts
Donations may be made to the Foundation in memory of a loved one who has passed away. These gifts can be made to the Foundation’s greatest area of need for students or can be designated for a special purpose. Please contact the Foundation office, 816-986-1015 to discuss memorial gift possibilities.
Payroll Deduction
Lee’s Summit R7 School District employees may choose to make a gift via payroll deduction to support LSEF programs. The Foundation’s R7 annual fund drive is held the second and third week of school. If you gave through payroll deduction last year, you’re already signed up this year at the same level. If you would like to double-check or update your gift amount, visit Employee Online.
Legacy Planned Gifts
Planned giving is a win-win approach to philanthropic donations that support a donor’s favorite nonprofit organizations and benefits the donor now or in the future. Planned giving is a satisfying way to create a legacy of support for continued educational excellence. Matching Gifts
Many companies have Matching Gift Programs where the company will match a portion of an employee’s donation (either volunteer time or financial contributions) to a not-for-profit organization. Donors may check with their employer or check this list to see if a Matching Gift Program is available and secure the necessary paperwork and documentation. The donor completes part of the paperwork and the Foundation completes the other portion and submits the form back to the employer.
Scholarship and Endowed Funds
The Foundation currently manages over 100 scholarship funds or other designated funds to which a donor may contribute. A donor may also establish a new endowed fund. To learn more about guidelines on establishing a new fund, contact the Foundation Office at 816-986-1015 or click here for a brief overview.
